Target
The Japanese Society for Sensory Evaluation certifies three grades of expert qualifications for the purpose of developing experts in sensory evaluations and promoting appropriate sensory evaluations.
- JSSE Sensory Evaluation Specialist
A person who has basic knowledge of all aspects of sensory evaluations. - JSSE Senior Sensory Evaluation Specialist
A person who must have basic knowledge and practical skills in sensory evaluations to be able to assume a leadership role in the workplace. - JSSE Professional Sensory Evaluation Specialist
A person who has a high level of expertise in sensory evaluations and can instruct “JSSE Senior Sensory Evaluation Specialists” at the workplace, etc. In a company, it is assumed that the person has been engaged in sensory evaluations for at least a certain number of years and is thoroughly acquainted with sensory evaluations. In research or teaching, it is assumed that the person has submitted more than a standard number of papers on sensory evaluations.
Format
“JSSE Sensory Evaluation Specialist” and “JSSE Senior Sensory Evaluation Specialist” certification examinations are held once a year using the CBT method (a testing method using PCs at various venues throughout Japan). The certification examinations for “JSSE Professional Sensory Evaluation Specialist” are conducted once a year online (oral examination and interview). All examinations are conducted in Japanese.
